Meet Margaret Hall. Margaret
is a co-owner of River Place Mercantile. She has been sewing since
she was nine. Her mother sewed everything Margaret and her seven siblings
wore. “In eighth grade, my mom made me a fake
leather mini skirt, sheer blouse, and matching Go Go boots. I was really
cool." Along with her mom’s guidance, Margaret also found instruction
in the 4-H club. There, she learned to knit and make leather crafts. Five
years ago, Margaret got into quilting. Her favorite pieces are quilts that
essentially came from 48 cross-stitched squares her grandmother made in
1975. Margaret’s mother gave them to her, but Margaret didn’t
feel it was right keeping them all to herself. Thus the work began, and
when it was said and done, Margaret presented each of her seven brothers
and sisters with a quilt to remind them of their grandmother. Margaret
Hall is also the co-owner of Pieces of My Heart with Betty Fryer. Come
on in to River Place Mercantile to see what family heirloom this talented
woman can help you complete! Mouse over an image below to view Margaret's
